Jack Schulz is the Final Seward Youth Rotarian for the 24-25 School Year

Jack Schulz, the son of Brian and Lyndsy Schulz of Seward is the final Seward Youth Rotarian for the 24-25 SHS School Year.  He was recognized and honored at the recent, May 7th noon Seward Rotary Luncheon at the Jones Bank Auditorium and introduced by Rotarian Amber Fiala. 

Jack is first and foremost a scholar!  He consistently was a member of the SHS Honor Roll and a leader in the SHS National Honor Society.  His weighted GPA is 4.11 and he was honored for his outstanding ACT Score of 33! 

He was the Captain of the SHS Academic Decathlon Team and won ten medals in the District Contest and three medals in the State Contest.  Their Academic Decathlon Team was First in State in their Division of Competition.  He was named the top score on the SHS Academic Decathlon Team both at Districts and State Level.

Jack won the First Place AMC (American Math Competition) Award in 2022, was Second in the AMC Contest in 2023 and was again the Champion in the AMC Award in 2024.

Jack is also an outstanding athlete.  He participated in the SHS Cross Country Team since 2021 and was awarded a Varsity Letter the last three years in Cross Country.  He is a member of the SHS Track Team and won a Varsity letter in 2024.

He was a team leader on the successful Varsity SHS Bowling Team-winning State in 2024. 

He is very involved in the various service clubs and organizations at SHS. He has been a leader his entire high school career in the local SHS FFA program and place Third in the State in in Farm Business Management this year at the State FFA Convention in Lincoln.

Jack is a longtime member of the SHS Skills USA Chapter and a leader at the State level as a member of their successful Skills USA Quiz Bowl Team-named State Champion in 2024.

He is also a loyal member of the SHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), where he competed for several years at the State Contests and was named First Place Winner in Business Calculations at the UNL Business Day in 2024.  He is also skilled in Microsoft Office-Specialist in Word and Microsoft Office-Specialist in Excel. 

He has been employed with the Sloup Thorell Destasseling of Seward since 2021 to the present.  He also works at Natty B’s Bar and Grill in Goehner-assisting preparation of the bar-b-que and food prep.

His community service centers around his sports activities, his service clubs -helping with food drives, and other community service endeavors.  He volunteered and served as the Video Coordinator for the local Striv Internet Broadcasting program at SHS.  He worked at many youth sports camps-promoting Cross County, Track and even Bowling.  He also mows area lawns and volunteers to grill for his church youth group.

Jack plans to attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln this Fall and major in Agriculture Engineering. 

Jack was honored at the local meeting and presented with some Rotary and Seward mementos and will receive a Book Scholarship at the SHS Honors Night.  He is also a finalist for the annual Seward Youth Rotarian Award and Scholarship-also announced that evening by Rotarian Brady Johnson.
