Seward High NSAA District B-4 Winner in Speech at Raymond Central District Tournament

On Monday, March 16th the Seward High Speech team was named the NSAA District B-4 Champions in an all-day speech meet to determine who would be representing the B-4 NSAA District at the NSAA State Speech Championship Contest in Kearney on March 28th.  The team is coached by SHS educators -Head Coach Spencer Jakub and assisted by Jessy Eggerling.

Seward finalists included Izayah Lavicky in Entertainment and Duet, Ethan Boggs in Duet, Ella Gabriel in Informative and Humorous Prose, Carly Kolterman in Extemporaneous, Katy Daniels in OID and Informative, Tomi-Ann Hedges in Poetry and OID, Sophie Hemphill in OID and Persuasive, Mackenna Wollenburg in OID, Joyah Warren in OID and Entertainment, Jacey Forbes in Humorous Prose, Samantha Quist in Persuasive, and Mia Cobian in POI.

State Qualifiers (placing  in the top three at Districts in their event) included Joyah Warren in Entertainment, Molly Marroquin in Extemporaneous, Katy Daniels in Informative, Ethan Boggs in OID, Izayah Lavicky in OID, Ayda Metschke in OID, Ella Gabriel in Humorous Prose, Sophie Hemphill in Persuasive, Samantha Quist in Persuasive, Lily Brashear in Poetry, OID and Duet, and Addilyn Sugden in POI, OID and Duet.

At the State Tourney on Saturday each entry was offered three performance opportunities which were judged and the top six of each category were selected for the State Finals.  Seward did not have any state finalists, however all of the Seward State Qualifiers received high superior ratings for their performances.
