Nora Halder SHS Fine Arts Youth of the Month

Nora Halder is the April Fine Arts Youth of the Month for SHS.  She was a member of the SHS speech team, participating in both the Central Conference contest and District Speech Contest and various regional tourneys as well in Serious Prose Literature and was a District Finalist. 

 

Nora has been involved with our drama program for all four years.   This last year, Nora was a member of our One Act Play Production show “Shut and Bar the Door” prepared for the Central Conference and District Play Production contests.

 

She loves to write and has been recognized for her many short stories and poetry and enjoys various aspects of music as well.  One of her short stories was recognized nationally. 

 

She is an involved, busy student at SHS, involved in a wide variety of activities and experiences.  

 

Nora is employed outside of school, working part time at the local Chapter’s Book Store.  She has worked her entire high school career.

 

Nora is an Honor Student and has taken or currently involved with four AP classes and several other Advanced Placement type classes. She is a musician and involved with the local dance program, and is accomplished at the piano. 

 

Nora is an outstanding volunteer, involved with the work of the local United Methodist Church, as a teacher of Vacation Bible School, taught Sunday school, involved with many mission trips and is considered one of the voices of youth in her church.

 

She plans to eventually be a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and plans to enter Doane University in Crete this fall.

 

She is the daughter of Lori Shriner and Randy Halder of Seward.
