Birthday Treats
Birthdays are special occasions for young children. If your child wishes, he/she may bring treats for the class. Summer birthdays can be celebrated in May or on half-birthday. Please send enough treats for at least 24 students. If you send in a treat, please make sure they are all the same, it is cut and ready to serve (no drinks please). We do not have utensils for cutting in our classroom. Please do not send party invitations to school unless the entire class has been invited. Although it may seem convenient to distribute invitations this way, it can result in hurt feelings for those not invited.
*We are a PEANUT-FREE School
*Check with your child's teacher for food allergies

Transportation Changes
Please send a note if your child has a change of transportation in the afternoon. Students will be required to follow the transportation plan established at the beginning of the year, unless a note is sent to the teacher on the day that the transportation needs to be changed. This is for the safety of the student.

Our Lunch Time and Visitors for Lunch
Our class goes to lunch from 11:15-11:45. You may come and eat lunch with your child any day of the week (except the month of August, this is to establish lunch routine). Please send a note if you plan on eating a school lunch, so the cafeteria staff can prepare for an extra meal.

Arrival and Dismissal at School
The school day begins at 8:15 and ends at 3:17. Children should not arrive in classroom prior to 8:05. Children who arrive to school before 8:05 will go to the gym, which is monitored by teachers. At 8:05 children are dismissed to their classrooms. Students not in the room by 8:15 are tardy. Second graders are dismissed in groups via bell in our building at 3:17. All students should be picked up by 3:30.

*Early Dismissal Days- Second grade dismisses at 1:17pm.

School Supplies
Pencils, erasers, glue sticks and Kleenex are shared items.  Be on the look out throughout the year for notes asking for more supplies
